LPC (Low Pressure Casting) Machine

Advantages

Our low pressure casting machines have several advantages compared to standard low pressure machines for casting of aluminum alloy wheels

1. Very precise control of mold filling allow us to prevent turbulence of molten metal that create gas bubbles and inclusions.

2. Possibility of degassing molten metal directly in machine furnace, reducing gas porosity and inclusions.

3. Possibility to increase the pressure (second stage to 2.5 bars) in furnace during solidification of the aluminum alloy in mold, which help to reduce or prevent surface micro-porosity.

4. Twelve cooling lines for mold heat control, including control of the cooling by temperature.

5. Additional option to hold molten metal in ricer tube witch help to reduce cycle and reduces the creation of oxides in riser tube.

However, we strongly recommend the use Counter Pressure Casting Machines. This recommendation is based on customers experience that shows the advantages of the counter pressure casting method. Beside the previously mentioned advantages CPC method permit the use of much higher pressure during the filling of the mold and solidification of the alloy in the mold - max. working pressure for CPC machines is 6 bars. In same conditions, compare with other methods, solidification under pressure in CPC machines improve mechanical properties, reduce or prevent the porosity, result in much better feeding and infiltration during solidification of the alloy in the mold, refined microstructure via rapid solidification. This is particularly important in case of polishing the wheels with or without following chrome plating, where surface microstructure is a critical factor. Using CPC method the layer of surface refined microstructure is thicker, compare in same condition with other methods, which is the result of longer contact with mold surface during solidification under pressure.
